Roll dice, create case files and agents, run combat turns and look things up, right in Discord. The bot is free, needs no sign-up and answers in English or German, depending on your Discord language.

| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
| /roll | A check: white dice (attribute) hit on 5+, coloured dice (skill) on 4+. Optional difficulty, bonus, penalty and name of the check. Shows successes, excess, fumbles and critical successes. Buttons “Reroll” and “+1 bonus die”. No dice: desperation roll. |
| /table | Rolls on one of the 281 random tables from the books: names by region, file names, places, clues, lab findings, artefacts, class questions and more. Discord suggests matching tables as you type. |
| /threat | Stats from the Threat Atlas: tier, origin, defence, armour, hit points, attacks, special rules. Only you can see the card, so your players see nothing. Attacks can be rolled secretly with a button. |
| /file | Rolls a whole case file from the Random Files: name, file colour, how the report comes in, the incident, time pressure, location, origin with first traces, plus what is really behind it, a complication, a twist and a possible ending. Only the GM sees it. The “Briefing for everyone” button shows the table just the name, colour, report, incident and time pressure. |
| /agent | An agent in seconds: a name from one of the regions, class and specialisation, how O.D.I.N. found them, drive, quirk, secret and the price of their specialisation. Use the class option to pick the class. Stats come from the character generator. |
| /initiative | Turn order for combat, visible to everyone. Each player joins with initiative and wisdom, “Next” passes the turn and counts the rounds. Ties are broken as in the core rules: wisdom first, then a d6. |
| /rule | Looks up a rule, for example horror checks, difficulties or trauma. |
| /odin | Short help. |
German Discord users see the commands as /wurf, /tabelle, /gegner, /regel and /akte.
After clicking “Add the bot to Discord”, Discord asks where it should go:
The O.D.I.N. bot is a free service by David Ger (contact: see Discord bot · Legal Notice). By adding or using the bot you agree to these terms.
The bot is provided as is, without warranty. There is no claim that it is always available, free of errors or offered permanently. It may be changed or discontinued at any time.
Use the bot only within Discord's Terms of Service and policies. Anyone who misuses it, for example to disrupt servers, may be excluded.
The texts, tables and stats in the bot come from the O.D.I.N. books. You may use the results freely at your table. The rights to the content remain with David Ger.
Liability for damage arising from use is limited to intent and gross negligence, as far as the law permits.
Changes to these terms are published on this page. Last updated: 25 September 2026.
The controller is David Ger, contact: see Legal Notice. The privacy policy of the website applies in addition.
When you use one of the bot's commands or press one of its buttons, Discord sends a request to the bot. It contains the command with your input, your user or display name, your language setting and technical IDs (user, server, channel, message) that Discord sends with every request.
The bot only uses what it needs to answer: the command, the language and the name shown on the roll card. It stores nothing: no database, no history, no profiles. The request comes from Discord's servers; your IP address does not reach the bot.
The bot runs on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., Cloudflare Workers). Cloudflare processes the requests on our behalf and may keep short-lived technical logs for operation and security.
The bot's answers are Discord messages and are stored by Discord under Discord's rules. Answers only you can see can be dismissed in Discord. Discord's privacy policy applies to data held by Discord.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (providing the bot service you requested). Your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and complaint to a supervisory authority are listed in the website's privacy policy.
